P.G.A. Professional, Ed Hanley, has been the Head Golf Professional at Cranston Country Club since 1999. He is responsible for the instruction of a wide variety of students. From the beginner to the advanced veteran, Ed has worked with every background of golfer.
Brown University named Ed as the Men's Golf Coach in 2002. Ed has worked with highly skilled college golfers
and enjoys the challenge of building a premier golf program at Brown. The experience has been a vital resource when teaching all students of the game.
The main principles incorporated in the teaching focuses on proper posture, balance and swing plane. All golfers are built differently and Ed's philosophy revolves around the students natural skills and enhancing them to gain improvement. Communication between the student and teacher is vital to success and Ed believes in a straight forward communication approach. Principles and techniques are broken down so the student can easily grasp the concepts being applied during the instructional sessions.
Most importantly, golf is a wonderful sport for everyone, and learning should be a fun process. Learning with a teacher like Ed is a great way to learn and improve your skills with this great game.
All lessons are taught on a natural turf range. The lesson area and range offer true golf shot replication. NO MATS!!

J C Video Computer Analysis
Hanley Golf Academy is utilizing the leading provider of web based swing analysis for all instruction. JC Video allows students to see their golf swings using tools to breakdown key sequences in the golf swing. This technology offers an important tool for both the instructor and the student.

All indoor lessons will be conducted utilizing JC Video computer swing analysis system. JC Video offers excellent feedback for golfers looking to improve the technical aspects of their golf swing.
Spring Tune Up: $140.00
(2) 1 hr sessions at Cranston CC Range
We will review the basics of grip, stance, alignment balance, swing plane and weight movement in first session. Second session we work through the bag. Start with short clubs and work to the driver at end of session. This session will focus on impact position and gaining club head speed.

Golf course instruction is available with course management and strategy focus. Integral course design insight and proper hole planning is the main objective for this form of instruction. Target specific management and swing alignment fundamentals are the featured topics during this instructional session.
Playing lessons w/ P.G.A. Professional Ed Hanley
This experience can be one on one or with 3 players. We hit the range for warm ups and hit the links. The
round can be dedicated to course management, skill instruction, situational decision making, or any other issues that might be of interest during the course of playing.
After the round, we will enjoy post golf food and drinks while we discuss the highlights of the round.
This instructional session willl start at 8:00 and end at 12:30 after lunch. Availability is limited to 3 golfers. Playing sessions are available Tuesday-Friday.
